Getting To Grips With Adobe InDesign

Adobe InDesign is something I have recently started to work with due to an upcoming project I am about to start working on with Design Juices & Lucas Cobb Design. So I thought I best get up to speed with making use of all of InDesign’s key features.

The following resources are just that, and are crucial to anyone starting out with Adobe InDesign like I did.

Please note that clicking on the preview below will take you to the full tutorial.

If you’ve ever formatted large amounts of text in Adobe InDesign or Quark and then had to change the font, colour, character size or leading of all of the headings or body text, you’ll know how time consuming it can be. It takes ages to trawl through large documents changing the attributes for each bit of text.

Create and Print a Brochure with Photoshop, Indesign and UPrinting.com – Part 2 – via Vector Tuts+

The great thing about the Adobe product range is how easy it is to combine your work from one program to another. In this tutorial we’ll take the Photoshop work from Part 1 over on Psdtuts+, and place it into InDesign, create a style sheet and then export a PDF. This work flow can be really useful particularly for larger documents where InDesign’s page layout features really kick in.

These are just a small collection of the resources I have been looking at.

If you have not noticed the many Magazine/brochure themed InDesign tutorials showcased, we are currently working on our own digital magazine! Stay tuned for updates as this project progresses and if you would like to get involved please get in touch!
